Rainbow Beast reminds you that music should be a kaleidoscope, pointed directly at the sun. This album is bold and boundless.
Favorite track: Oliver in the Wrong Cast (with Eagle in a Bubble).
RAINBOW BEAST is a band born from the minds of children, embodied by professional rock musicians, and straddling the border between the imaginary (but very real) world of Rock Band Land, and the real (yet often fantastical) city of San Francisco, California. The musicians are Marcus Stoesz (Vocals, Guitar, Keys), Brian Gorman (Drums, BG Vocals), and Jen Aldrich (Bass).
The members of Rainbow Beast act as interpreters, mentors and curators in the Bay Area’s collaborative creativity program called Rock Band Land. All songs the band records and performs are written with elementary-age kids in after-school or summer camp classes. To date, the band has produced almost 200 original songs and stories with the Rock Band Land rockers. “Tales of the Monstrosity Scrolls” is a collection of some of those hits and is the first official release by Rainbow Beast.
Press Quotes:
"Could easily be the new Flaming Lips or Of Montreal album – it's just that weird and wonderful."
Free Times
"These songs are reminiscent of Wilco, Radiohead and The Kinks. With tracks that are anything but typical kiddie rock, Rainbow Beast’s new release will be as enjoyable for you as it is for your kids.”
Red Tricycle
"It’s like Arcade Fire if that Canadian band quit taking itself so seriously and began singing about dangerous weather, plus things like polar bears and giant shrimp." Detroit Metro Times
